My journey as a fitness instructor began in 2005 when I took my Can Fit Pro FIS (Fitness Instructor Specialist) as part of my BPHE at Queen’s University. I started teaching step, bootcamp, and muscular conditioning classes at the Queen’s University Physical Education Centre to earn a little extra income while I studied. I loved it! Soon after, I took the Can Fit Pro Personal Trainer Specialist (PTS) course and began training clients part-time.
After graduating from Queen’s, I my completed my Les Mills RPM Instructor certification (trained on RPM 34) and started working as a Group Fitness Instructor at GoodLife Fitness clubs in Ottawa. When I moved to Toronto for my Bachelor of Education, I continued to teach RPM classes for the GoodLife Toronto Team, and did my Les Mills Body Pump Instructor certification (Body Pump 77).
I absolutely LOVE my job as a fitness instructor. It is a privilege to have the chance to motivate and inspire others to be the best they can be. This role also helps me to be the best version of myself: getting stronger in the gym has helped me feel stronger and more confident in my every day life.
